as joe vazquez reports. >> muni operators sleeping, snacking, and reading on the job? that's the claim of inspectors with the cpuc, the california public utilities commission. on april 26 of last year while investigationing a previous unrelated fatality at the castro station. an inspector reports he found a train operator he believed to be passed out. according to the report, it took a few seconds for the operator to respond. he replied, no, i'm not sleeping. muni sources say that driver denies he was sleeping and is fighting the allegation. february 23 of last year, an inspector said a bus driver was observed speeding and later abandoning his bus to go into a bus and buy snacks. and another incident, he saw a train operator with a pile of newspapers, which made it look like he was being distracted by the news article. >> these are all isolated.
